Sanooj’s legal journey began with the completion of his B.A.LLB (Hon’s) at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) in Kerala, India. He further honed his skills by obtaining an LLM in Commercial Law from the University of Bristol in the UK. Admitted to the Bar Council of Kerala, India, in June 2010 and was registered with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department (2015-2022), Sanooj holds a strong foundation in both Indian and UAE legal systems.

Sanooj started his legal career at his family office in Kerala, learning under the guidance of his father. His father, a senior lawyer with over 50 years of experience, holds a prominent position in the legal landscape of Kerala, India. The family’s well-established law practice in Kerala is widely connected with reputed lawyers across India. Furthermore, his brother, a senior lawyer practicing at the Supreme Court of India, adds another layer of legal excellence to the family legacy.

With a keen interest in staying at the forefront of legal technology, Sanooj has consistently leveraged cutting-edge legal databases, research and legal AI tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the legal processes. His commitment to client regulatory and banking compliance with UAE laws and regulations is evident in his comprehensive legal advice, meticulous research, and thorough drafting of legal documents.

In his current role at Paoli Legal, Sanooj has excelled in providing strategic guidance to corporate clients, conducting due diligence investigations, and managing risk assessments. His involvement in high-stakes litigation related to white-collar crimes and corporate fraud showcases his dedication to protecting clients’ interests. Sanooj also collaborates with international legal teams, ensuring compliance with global legal standards in cross-border operations.

Prior to his current position, Sanooj gained valuable experience in his role as Associate Lawyer at Bin Haider Advocates and Legal Consultants as well as at Galadari Advocates and Legal Consultants, both prominent legal firms in Dubai. His responsibilities included advising clients on corporate transactions, negotiating agreements, conducting legal research, and providing litigation support. Sanooj also has a profound theoretical and practical background in Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio management, including trademark registration, patent protection, and copyright infringement.

In addition to his professional achievements, Sanooj is an active member of various legal associations, including the Bar Council of India, Bar Council of Kerala, Kerala High Court Advocate’s Association. He is also a proud alumnus of both the University of Bristol and NUALS. In addition to this Sanooj is a multilingual professional, proficient in English, Hindi, Malayalam, and possesses a foundational understanding of Arabic. This linguistic diversity enhances his ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment, contributing to his success in cross-border legal operations.
